This week we talk to Richard Preiss of Escarpment Labs. We talk all things Kveik and yeast in general.
Hi Everyone,
I am on vacation so I am dropping a bonus episode this week. This is an episode I normally drop for my patrons but enjoy it this week.
Colter
Rusty Wilson is an avid gluten-free homebrewer. He has his own online store where he sells gluten-free extract kits. He sent me a kit and I made a beer out of it. I talk to him about alternative rains and gluten-free extracts. I then taste a gluten-free beer that I made.
This week after one of my future guests told me he was recovering from COVID-19. I thought I might do a show about how COVID has affected homebrewers. So I went out on to the internets and asked homebrewers about how you are all weathering the Pandemic.
This is the 4th episode of our Beginning Homebrewing Series. You have done an extract batch, you have built a recipe, now it is time to go all grain! We dive into the equipment you need to buy, and the process you need to go all-grain using the BIAB method of brewing. This is the most approachable way to start with all grain requiring the least amount of up front cost and equipment. Bellow are some links to the equipment you will need to go to a BIAB setup.
This is the third installment of our beginner’s series. We talk about all things brewing software. Upfront I am going to say I am supported by BrewFather but we talk about all of the different software out there. We cover BeerSmith, BrewTarget, BrewFather, and Brewer’s Friend. I also talk about what to look for with any homebrewing software. I then talk to you through making a recipe in your software.
Today Dan Matthews of the My Adventures in Homebrewing Podcast joins me for a beginner discussion on yeast. We talk about dry vs liquid and how to make a starter. We even do a DIY project on building your own stir plate. Head over to https://homebrewingdiy.beer. for detailed notes and instructions on today’s episode.
Brewing your first beer is an adventure. I made episode to walk you through the process of your first extract kit beer. From the basic equipment to bottling I go through the full process.

Today we talk to my long time friend and brewer Aaron Bandler. We talk about how we approach building our brewing recipes and how we dial the beers we want to make. We also discuss with Aaron his new brewing system he is building with Brew Blocks.
